If you’re a car enthusiast, the new “Untitled Ford vs. Ferrari Project” is right up your alley. Although this exciting film has yet to hit theaters, it’s already triggered a great deal of anticipation. It details the true story of how Ford and Ferrari were engaged in a heated battle to build the world’s fastest race car.
A Clash for Racing Dominance
During the early 1960s, Ferrari was a step ahead of everyone else in the famous Le Mans World Championship. Every year, they managed to win this prestigious racing event. However, Ford wasn’t satisfied with allowing Ferrari to dominate the racing scene. Henry the Ford II made it a mission to conquer the Italian automaker. He enlisted the help of experienced driver Ken Miles and automotive designer Carroll Shelby to help create the fastest track car.
When this film is finally produced, you’ll be able to see how all of the action unfolds. It shows Ford’s commitment to automotive excellence.
The Film’s Cast
James Mangold is set to direct the Ford vs Ferrari Project. He is the same director who supervised the production of Logan, which was the sequel to Wolverine. Although the film’s cast has yet to be finalized, Christian Bale and Matt Damon will take the lead roles. However, the film’s biggest star is perhaps the legendary Ford GT40.
This is the high-performance car that was finally able to overtake Ferrari at the Le Mans World Championship in 1966. It actually went on to win the race four consecutive times.
